The Mission
In support of the Treasures of Africa Children's Home and its commitment to the children of Tanzania, businessmen Paul Toomey and Deane Toler of Geographic Solutions are on a mission to cycle coast to coast across Northern England and raise funds for the orphanage.
The money raised will help the Treasures of Africa Children's Home defray costs to not only feed, clothe, and provide a home for these orphans, but to provide an education that will enable each child to develop and be successful in a high tech world.
The Cause
The Treasures of Africa Children's Home was officially opened in March 2007. Located in Moshi at the foot of beautiful Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, this home provides loving care, nutritious food, and education in a Christian family environment for orphaned and abandoned children.
The home was opened in direct response to the high incidence of AIDS and orphaned children in the nation of Tanzania. UNICEF currently estimates the number of orphans within Tanzania to be over 2 million.
